Why are we doing this Study:
The purpose of this research study is to determine if
the air pollution you breathe during travel on Los
Angeles freeways causes temporary changes in the
heart and lungs, according to symptoms, lung
function tests, heart tracings (electrocardiograms,
ECG), and biochemical substances measured in the
blood. Results from this study may increase the
understanding of how air pollution can affect the
human body, and guide new efforts to control air
pollution.
